Our Annual Peony Festival will be taking place on May 17th & 18th! Please see below for the performance schedule! All performances will be on May 17, Saturday but there will be arts and crafts on both days!
Parking will be free only on Sunday in the North Parking Lot of South Seattle College.
The Seattle Chinese Garden will not be selling Peonies at the Peony Festival this year, but the South Seattle College’s Garden Center will be open on Saturday if you are interested in purchasing plants and supporting the students of South Seattle College!

No experience necessary, all experience levels, abilities, and all ages welcome.
World Tai Chi Qigong Day has been observed around the globe since 1999. Restita DeJesus has held yearly free events in the Puget Sound area since then. For the past 11 years it has held it at the Seattle Chinese Garden. This beautiful serene setting has been the most requested venue. After the practice, feel free to roam the gardens.
This is a free event, however donations to the Garden are much welcomed. Donations to the Seattle Chinese Garden can be made on site or by going to the website at https://www.seattlechinesegarden.org/
World Tai Chi and Qigong Day's stated goals are to:
Educate the world about emerging medical research revealing health benefits that t'ai chi ch'uan and qigong offer.
Educate about the increasing use of these ancient traditional Chinese medicine modalities in business, healthcare, education, penal and drug rehabilitation.
Provide a global vision of cooperation for health & healing purposes across geopolitical boundaries, and also an appeal to people worldwide to embrace wisdom from all the cultures of the world.
Thank the Chinese culture for the gifts of tai chi and qigong to the world.

Astra Lumina: An Enchanted Night Walk Amongst The Stars will be taking place in the garden starting December 8, 2023.
Astra Lumina Seattle is a one-mile-long enchanted night walk through the Seattle Chinese Garden that takes visitors on a journey to discover the wonder of visiting stars. Through the magic of projections, lighting, and music, astral energy transforms the garden into a celestial pathway, connecting visitors to the stars and the vast world around them.

You will use a brush tip pen to follow the strokes and write Chinese poems or Buddhist "Heart Sutra" at the Garden. The activity is free and it will start from 2pm to 4pm on Sundays.
